-476 Fall of the Western Roman Empire He was the last roman emperor of the west. people had become extremely illiterate. Life also become shorter then ever before
486 Clovis becomes leader of the franks He was the first frank king to unite all Frankish tribes under one authority. One of the most successful figures in the late 5th to early 6th century. His father was also Childeric l was a Salian frank king
527 Justinian l becomes Byzatine emperor He renewed Byzantine rule and Hellenic influence in parts Italy. He had constant barbarian invaders from Persia. He set up a commission that started a new code of imperialism.
800 C.E Charlemagne crowned Holy Roman Emperor Pope Leo lll had summoned him because he couldn't hold of his enemies in the city. Charlemagne kneed down for prayer and the pope had put the crown on his head. He was shocked to earn this great honnor of becoming king
1054 Schism in the Christian Church This was the separation of the eastern christian church and the western church. The excommunications where not lifted until 1965. Western theology was mainly based off of Roman law while the eastern was based off of Greek theology.
1066 Battle of Hastings Ended in the defeat of Harold ll of England. It established Normandy as the rulers of England. William was the conquer, who was the son of Rober l, duke of normady.
1096 First Crusade This was a fight to help the Byzantines and to free the city of Jerusalem. They wanted to recapture the holy land from Muslim control. They had over 60,000 soldiers to try to defeat the Muslims.
-1215 Mangna Carta The barons influenced King John by the treat of rebellion because of heavy taxation etc. It was a constitution that was the foundation of common law for the country. This also had an influence for the founders of the United States of America. This document didn't work out too well because later broke out a civil war.
1231 Inquisition formed Was meant to punish Hersey. Over the span of 200 years they killed 32,000 people. They would come to town and give the people a chance to admit their Hersey, those who where accused had to testify and if they where found guilty they would have terrible punishments.
-1271 Ninth Crusade It was the Crusade of the holy land. Louis XI of France had the largest army he later died and they where going to fight edgpt but they later started the 9th Crusade. Ultimently the 9th Crusade ended up with a win for the Edward
1337 Hundred Years's War Begins Was a war between France and and England, it lasted 116 years. France had the advantage over England, But England had the more discipline military. It was a fight for the succession of the french crown.
1347 Black Death Arrives in Europe The black death started from fleas on rats. It spread from central Asia to Europe and it killed 1/3 of Europe and china's population. It started spreading near people who lived near the black sea and moved west outwards to the rest of Europe.
-1453 Ottomans Conquer Byzantine Empire Sultan Mehnmed Was the leader at the time that helped the Byzantine empire conquer the Byzantine, He had the nickname the conquer afterwards.They had walls but they removoed them and that aided them to take over. The decrease of population was a big reason for the removal of the walls.
