Earliest evidence of human habitation in the Ankor area
King Jayavarman the 2nd declared himself King
King Jayavarman the 1st died, and passed his rule on
King Jayavarman the 3rd started his rule
Suryavarman the 1st started his rule
Suryavarman the 2nd began his reign.
The Empire is at its political and territorial peak
During these late years of the century, the Empire was starting to weaken due to internal conflict and unsucesfull campagins
King Ponhea Yat moved the centre/capital of Angkor to Phnom Penh.
Suyavarman II built what is now known as the Angkor Wat temple in the mid-12th Century.
Indravarman the 3rd made buddhism the state religion
Indravarman the 1st built the first Khmer reservoir
Jayavarman the 4th moved the capital to Koh Ker
Harshavarman the 2nd restored Angkor/Yasodharapura as capital
Chams defeated Khmers under the rule of Tribhuvanadityavarman
Jayavarman the 7th defeated the Chams and expanded the empire to it's greatest size.
