August 1999 Blogger is launched. The first open platform for users to share and collaborate ideas is introduced.
July 24, 2007 World of Warcraft surpasses 9 million subscribers. WoW becomes first video game with a large global presence, paving the way for many games to come.
January 18, 2012 The internet goes dark to protest SOPA-PIPA bills. Many of the internets biggest sites such as Google, Wikipedia, Twitter, and Tumblr all went offline to raise awareness in protest of copyright protection bills.
February 4, 2004 Facebook was launched. It is one of the first big social networking service, and was founded by Mark Zuckerberg.
April 1, 2004 Gmail's services were accessible to the public. It offered more storage than Hotmail, at 1 GB of storage.
December 16, 2003 President Bush signed the CAN-SPAM Act to control the amount of spam an individula reeives.
April 23, 2005- Jawed Karim uploads first video to youtube called, "Me at the zoo"
June 1, 1999- Napster launches with its internet service allowing users to share P2P files
June 29, 2007- Apple releases of their first generation in their line of iPhone products.
