The first ever coin operated video game was installed at Stafford university. It cost over £20,000 to build a computer called the DEC PDP-11 and a vector display terminal.
Atari developed Pong in 1972 which when released became the first commercially successful coin operated video games selling over 35,000 units
Gun fight was released, this was the first game that used a microprocessor.
Taito corporation released Space Invaders this became a very popular arcade games. From 1978 to 1982 arcade games became much more popular.
Atari released Asteroids which was one of the most popular arcade games and is their most sold arcade games.
