Invasion Of Poland On the first of September, 1939 Germany started their invasion of Poland. Neighboring countries such as England and France saw this as an act of aggression and declared war only two days later.
Bombing of Nagasaki After Japanese leaders denied a request to surrender the US dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, the last one being in Nagasaki, winning the war for the allies.
Invasion of Normandy American forces landed at the beach of Normandy France, this was the start of the Allied offensive invasion and attacks. Although massive casualties were suffered, it was a huge victory in favor of the Allies because it gave them a foothold in Europe.
Bombing of Pearl Harbor On December 7th, 1941 the Japanese surprise attacked the military base Pearl Harbor. Over 3,000 Americans died, the very next day President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan.
Battle Of Coral Sea The Battle of Coral Sea was the first US victory verses Japan, Japaneese aircraft carriers planned to control Coral Sea but were stopped by US forces.
Battle of Midway The Battle of Midway was a huge turning point in the war aginst Japan. Japan planned an ambush on US forces, but the US knew this and planned a counter ambush that was extremely successfull and destroyed three out of the four Japanese carriers.
Battle of the Bulge Allied forces are beginning to advance from Normandy throughout France and Belgium, Germans attempted to stop this with a surprise Blitzkrieg. Although they did slow the advance of Allied troops, they ultimately ran out of recources and the Allies continued their invasion.
Battle of Stalingrad German forces planned of capture the Soviet city Stalingrad. This was one of the longest and bloodiest battles of WWII and resulted in Allied victory.
Battle of Berlin The final defense attempt of Germany in the city of Berlin against the approaching Ally army.
Battle of Moscow More than one million german troops were sent by Germany to attack and destroy Moscow. The Germans quickly fought their way within 18 miles of Moscow, but due to the freezing winter and the Russian counter attack they were forced to retreat.
