1 June 30, 1863 Union troops prepare to defend the town of Gettysburg, PA from the rebel forces.
2 July 1 1863 Advancing rebel forces overwhelm the meager forces and chase them out of Gettysburg to nearby Cemetery Hill.
3 July 2 1863 Union troops at little round top, South of Gettysburg are charged at by Confederate Forces. Union lines hold.
4 July 3 1863 Gen Picket leads 13,000 confederate troops in a charge at the Union's lines, all fails, less than half of the participating was able to retreat.
5 July 4 1863 The small town of Gettysburg is transformed into one big Union hospital for the wounded.
6 Late August, 1863 The battle fields of Gettysburg are turned into a memorial cemetery for both Union and Confederate lives lost in the war.
7 November 18 1863 President Lincoln arrives in Gettysburg, PA.
8 November 19 1863 Lincoln delivers the Gettysburg Address at the memorial service held at Soldiers National Cemetery.
