1978 The first commercial Disc format, Laser Disc was released into the market. The storage capacity was 64 min of high quality video per side. The size 12 inches in diameter.
1960 The first commercial cassette players are released, they could store 45min of audio per side.
1997 The first CD-RW was released. It could store 700MB.
1990 The First CD-R was released with capacity of 700MB.
1976 The first widely commercial SSD appeared in the market called BULK CORE. It could store 2MB of data in a period of 10 years at fast read and write speeds for the time.
2000 First Thumb Drive was released by IBM. It could store 8MB of data.
2003 First Blu-Ray Disc released into the market. It could store 25GB per layer.
2008 The first Holographic Versatile disk released. This format stores around 3.9 Terabytes.
