Warm-up and familiarisation if the BEST simulation. Perceptual test #1
Arrive at the sports lab, complete questionnaires. Change into loose fitting basketball clothes.
Pre-testing; Physical: verticle jump, repeated sprint & 5-0-5 sprints
BEST simmulation 2x 12 minutes, 4x 10 jumping lunges, 2 minute wall sit.
Post testing; Perceptual measures #2, physical: verticle jump, repeated sprints & 5-0-5 sprints
Shower & changed into pyjamas or compression garments.
Standardised dinner and shown through to the environmental chamber
All participants in the tempurature and humidity controlled laboratory. Not allowed out without permission and being accompanied, only for bathroom.
Mobile phones and any other electronic devices taken away and lights turned out. Encouraged to fall asleep ASAP
Heart rate monitored throughout the night to measure sleep quantity
Participants woken, lights turned on. Perceptual measures #3 including sleep quality and quantity. Change into loose fitting basketball clothes
Participants warm-up and complete 12 hour Physical post test.
Participants finish and allowed to get dressed and depart the laboratory.
