January 31, 1940: Baylor University Museum renamed "The Strecker Museum."
Periods
August 1941: Strecker curator subdivides the collection into 14 unique categories, each with its own representative sample of objects on exhibit.
1933-1944 Academic Year: President Neff merges the Biology department with the Strecker Museum as part of an initiative to make Baylor more efficient and cost-effective as an institution and names Cornelia Smith Director.
Early June 1948: Discovery of plesiosaur provides enough leverage and publicity to once again establish the Stecker Museum's importance to the Baylor and Waco communities.
