2017 - Invest in Kids tax credit scholarship program enacted by IL General Assembly.
2017 - Empower Illinois advocacy group and funding agency created to facilitate the distribution of Invest in Kids tax credit scholarships.
2018 - tax credit scholarship implemented, allotting scholarships of up to around $4,000 for low-income students who wish to attend private institutions.
