A.D 460 Migration of German people. The Roman Empire collapsed. The last Roman emperor, Romulus Augustus, was deposed by the German army.
A.D 500-751 Merovingian Dynasty Clovis, the Merovingian King who took over the Frankish tribes , and ruled over the Germanic-Roman people. He later established a Germanic and Roman society.
A.D. 768-911 Carolingian Dynasty The Frankish reaches from Spain into central Germany. Charlemagne, the holy Roman emperor established the Treaty of Verdun, which allot three different areas of central Germany, each of them are ruled by his grandsons.
A.D 919-1024 Saxon Dynasty Frankish and Saxon nobles elected Henry I the German king. Otto I, German king gains control of Middle Kingdom, and Holy Roman Empire of the German Nadon begins with his coronation as emperor. German empire extends to Elbe River and southeast to Vienna.
A.D 1024-1125 Salian Dynasty Henry IV, the holy roman emperor at that time, challenged the pope. A civil war broke out. The German empire then weakens, and German princes began the rise power to took control of Germany.
A.D 1138-1254 Hohenstaufen Dynasty Hohenstaufen King struggled to restore the imperial authority. Holy Roman emperors restored authority in Italy and Sicily. The German princes gained concessions.
A.D 500 The Medieval Germany period has begun.
A.D 1273-1519 Early Habsburg Dynasty Rudolf of Habsburg elected German king acquires Austria and Styria in 1282 and makes Habsburgs strongest German dynasty. German princes power to elect emperor and provides basic constitution of Holy Roman Empire.
