Pre-1800s Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

1800s Saxon diet came to Australia. Early European and being flour, Sugar, salt and tea and little fruit and vegetables.

1850s China brought with them new food and cooking skills.

1900s Gas and electric stoves and company come in like Peters, Kraft, Nestle, Cadbury and Kellogg’s. When the Great Depression many people bought cheaper food.

1850s-1900s dairy and wine from Denmark, Sweden and Germany industries like jams, cordials, cheese, tomato, sauce and preserved meats.

1940s World War II food shortage. American-style and food, Britain, Italy and Greece style of cooking came to Australia. New style of cooking came in Restaurants and homes.

1950s Coloured packaging arrived in stores, and self-service began to replace counter service in stores.

1956 When the Olympic Games begin, many chefs overseas came to cook.

1960s Woman was getting enter in paid workforce and meant that less time for prepping time to cook.

1970 Fast food was invent and many more country’s was increasing in Australia.

1980s Nutrition and diet was getting important.

1990s People was concerned about health and focused on diet and exercise. Fast food was growing increasing fast in the day.

2000s instead fast was consuming in the young gen and was not learning some of the cook styles.

2010 Farmer’s market have become increasingly popular in cities and regional areas.
