Mary Berry is born as a middle child, growing up to be an outdoor type kid
Traveled to France at age 12 on a family holiday and discovered the wonders and potential of food
At age 13, she contracted polio, and had to be kept away from her family in a glass isolation room
She attended Bath High School and said her academic knowledge was hopeless until she took domestic science classes and had a teacher who was very keen on her cooking abilities
At age 22, she moved to France to pursue her cooking career
Her very first book was published in 1970, called "The Hamlyn All Colour Cookbook."
In 1994, she launched her own product range with her daughter Annabelle
From 2010 to 2016, she was a judge on BBC Ones "The Great British Bake Off," alongside Paul Hollywood.
In 2018 she will be a judge on the new show "Britain's Best Home Cook"
