Was released from the House of Correction two months early, starting his five year probation. Moved back into his grandmothers temperorily.
Moved into his last home in apartment 213 at 924 North 25th Street.
Brought Raymond Smith to his apartment with a promise of $50 for sex. Drugged and strangled him. Bought a Polaroid the next day and took pictures.
Brought another man home but accidentally consumed the sedative laced drink himself. The man robbed him. Dahmer didn't report it.
Brought Edward Smith home and drugged and strangled him in a similar manner.
Lured Ernest Miller home. Only had 2 sleeping pills that did not render him unconscious so Dahmer slit his throat.
Dahmer brought David Thomas to his house and drugged him. Apparently after drugging him he felt no attraction to him but was afraid of letting him wake up. Dahmer strangled him and purposely kept no body parts.
Dahmer killed Curtis Straughter in the same manner as the rest, drugging, strangling, then dismembering him.
This time Dahmer experimented. He drugged Errol Lindsey then drilled a hole in his skull and poured hydrochloric acid into it in attempts to create permanently submissive live sex doll. He woke up still able to move with a headache so Dahmer drugged him again and strangled him.
The next was Konerak Sinthasomphone, the younger brother of the boy Dahmer molested in 1988. Dahmer drugged him and injected hydrochloric acid into his frontal lobe. Dahmer left to drink at a bar and came back early the next day, to find Konerak talking to 3 of his neighbors who had called the cops....
Dahmer told the officers that Konerak was his 19 year old boyfriend who was simply drunk. The officers even had a quick look inside Dahmer's apartment but left without doing a background check where they would have found that he was on probation and is a registered sex offender. After they left Dahmer injected more acid into Konerak's brain and it killed him.
Matt Turner was drugged, strangled, and dismembered like most the others. He was never reported missing though.
Jeremiah Weinberger was drugged and Dahmer injected boiling water into his brain twice. Jeremiah went into a coma in which he died two days later.
Dahmer tried to knock Oliver Lacy unconscious with chloroform but it failed and he strangled him while he was conscious. Dahmer had sex with Olivers corpse before dismembering him.
Dahmer was fired from his job at the Ambrosia Chocolate Factory for which he worked over six years. Afterwards, Dahmer brought home Joseph Bradehoft and strangled him.
Admitted to the seventeen murders over the course of the next two weeks.
Was charged with four counts of murder by Ohio.
Was charged with eleven more counts of murder by Wisconsin.
After uncovering more evidence, Ohio charged Dahmer with the murder of Steven Hicks. Dahmer was not charged for the murder of Steven Tumori or the attempted murder of Tracy Edwards because the district attorney wanted the charges to be proven beyond reasonable doubt.
Dahmer pleaded guilty but insane to fifteen counts of murder at the preliminary hearing.
Trail began. His sanity was what they had to decide. Dr. Carl Wahlstrom diagnosed Dahmer with borderline personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, necrophilia, alcohol dependence, and a psychotic disorder.
The verdict ruled that Dahmer was sane and without mental disorder during the fifteen murders, although two of the twelve jurors disagreed. Dahmer was sentences to fifteen counts of life imprisonment plus eighty years. Capital punishment was outlawed in Wisconsin in 1853 so the death penalty was not an option. He was kept in solitary confinement his first year of prison for his own safety.
Ohio tried Dahmer for his first murder, Steven Hicks. Dahmer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to his sixteenth life sentence.

These very well could be true though as Dahmer had been killing more and more people with less space in between and likely had became completely unstable. Tracy managed to escape and was found by police at 11:30 pm. The two officers and Tracy went to Dahmers apartment. Dahmer admitted to handcuffing Tracy and said the keys where in his bedroom.
Dahmer brought Tracy Edwards to his house. Dahmer tried to handcuff Tracy and threatened him with a knife. That part of Tracy's story has evidence but most people believe the other parts of Tracy's story was made up for media attention. Examples are Tacy says that Dahmer had the movie /The Exorcist III/ playing and was rocking back and forth while chanting.
He went to get them but the police officers told him to step back. One of the officers found the key, a knife under the bed, and a drawer of Polaroids of Dahmer's victims. The police officer showed them to the other officer but Dahmer saw and fought the officers. They quickly overpowered him, cuffed him, and called for backup. The officers found a severed head in the fridge while they waited.
Afterward, Dahmers apartment was searched. They found four severed heads, seven skulls, blood samples, two hearts, some arm meat, a torso, a bag of organs, two entire skeletons, a pair of hands, two penises, a scalp, a 57-gallon drum of hydrochloric acid with three torsos melting in it, and 74 Polaroids.
