30/08/91 - Davis goes on trial and is sentenced to death (based on eyewitness testimony)
09/01 - 7/9 eyewitnesses, who convicted Troy, pointed Coles as the killer
09/01 - Davis's lawyers applealed to the 11th Circuit, but the motion was denied
21/09/11 - Troy Davis is executed
16/07/07 - 90-day stay of execution is granted, just one day before Davis is scheduled to be executed.
23/09/08 - At his second execution date, Davis is spared, the US Supreme Court delays the execution
27/10/08 - As the US Supreme Court decided not to intervene, the Georgia Court of Appeals puts a hold on the execution to allow a new petition to be made.
07/09/11 - After several more appeals fail, Georgia sets a fourth execution date for 21 September.
