The irish Rebels stormed the 4 courts in Dublin. They took over several buildings.
The British government brought in the military.
Troops arrived in Dublin. About 240 soldiers were killed.
The British troops attacked the Irish rebels behind the 4 courts, but they were only able to advance 140 meters. 15 troops died and 28 were injured. The soldiers killed 11 males.
The troops destroyed Sackville Street. it was blown to pieces. There were human bodies destroyed cars all over the block. The Irish and the British soldiers were at a full on war. Blood shed populated the streets.
Attack on Post office caused HQ to be abandoned. There were about 300 civilian casualties. The rebels formed up on Sackville street to surrender.
There were about 90 death sentences that were given out.
Robert Casement was hung for High treason.
The first gun shots of the rising were fired.

In 1922 the 26 county Irish Free State gained its Independence and renamed it self Ireland in 1937. In 1949 it declared it self a republic.
In 1915 three people from the military committee came together to plan the Revolution.
