-England did not officially announce the war until 1756
-This war was also called the Second Hundred Years' War
-At the peace conference, the British received Canada from France

-Published it about his arguments in favor of American Independence
-Credited with uniting the colonists about the idea of independence
-This pamphlet sold over 500,000 copies
