The village in witch Salva's school is was attacked by the government.Nya is walking to get water and tries to avoid spiky plants while she is walking.While the fighting was happening, Salva was running away from his home. The other villagers were also running with him and they all stopped at a place far from the fighting. Then, the villagers gathered in groups of their own tribe. The rebels came and made the men of every tribe carry supplies. The next day, Salva woke up and found that he was alone.Salva and the rest of the group that ran away stayed in a barn, but in the morning he found out that there was no one there. when he went outside he found a women that owned the farm and she let him stay for 3 days.Salva had to leave the lady he was staying with and the lady helped him join another group. A kid named Buksa who is also walking with the group had found a bee's hives nest.Nya has arrived at the pond to fill up her container all the way to the top. After she was complete, Nya was taking the journey back home again, thinking that it would be a longer way than arriving.Nya and her family are at the camp because of dry season. Nya has to go to the lake and dig for water and then she has to sit and wait for the water to come. The lake is mostly empty and dried up. This year Nya's mother hates camp because they had no house and they couldn't bring things from their house. Also in Nya's family her brother and father had gone out hunting and Nya's mother was afraid that they would meet the Dinka tribe and that they would fight and get hurt or killed.Nya and her family move closer to the river because of the dry season. They can do this because there is peace between tribes.Salva and the group made a fire under the tree that the beehive was on to make the bees sleepy. It had partially worked but the group had retrieved the honey and they also had many swollen parts on their body that was stung by the bees. With each passing day, the group got bigger with more people joining. Then, a week after he joined the group, Salva met a boy his age and they quickly became friends.Nya is walking to go get her family water.Nya has come home to deliver the water and now must go again, this time with her sister Akeer, to fetch more water.Some

happenedThe group have all gotten in their reed boats and now are trying to cross the Nile. On the way their they found a island on the river and they saw that most people were selling food or fruit. Most people in the group had to beg for something but Salva's uncle didn't have to. The group had stayed on the island to rest but that was a mistake because a bunch of mosquitoes came out of the water and stared biting everyone.Nya's little sister is ill and her family has to make a choice of taking her to the docters that are a few days walk from their home or try to help her get better on her own.Salva and the group continue to walk in the desert and Salva is having a hard time walking and keeping up. Then the group comes across some men. two of the men still alive. one of the women try to help the men.
