Richard Craft is convicted
Evidence of murder of Helle Craft. Richard Craft is arrested. bail posted at $750 000
Police obtain a warrant to search Craft's home. Evidence found: carpet fragments, blood stains matching Helle's blood type and strange purchases. Witness placed wood-chipper at Lake Zoar.
Joseph Hine, snowplow driver saw Mr Craft using a wood chipper at around 3.30 am.
Richard Craft sent his three children with Dawn Thomas to his sister's house at 6.30 am and picked up his children at 7 pm.
Keith Mayo (private investigator) went to Newton police
Investigators search lake and finds; 3 ounces of human remains, blood, human teeth with crown, human finger, a toe nail covered with pink nail polish, bone chips, fingernails, 2600 bleached blonde human hair and a piece of human skull
Helle Craft dropped off at home (last seen before disappearance).
Helle Craft legally declared dead
State's Attorney Walter Flanagan turned investigation over to the state police
Police called Craft's in for questioning
State police divers find chainsaw at the bottom of the lake. Dr Henry Lee analyses evidence and finds specks. He recovers the serial number from the chainsaw which was damaged under water.
