Russian Civil War (7 nov 1917 anni – 25 ottob 1922 anni)
Descrizione:
Cause (International): Japan and Germany's signing of the Anti-Comintern Pact caused Stalin to fear a possible coordinated attack by both, particularly on Soviet-controlled Siberia.
Effect (International): memories of Japanese intervention in Russian Civil War prompted Stalin to offer support to CCP's regime and offer them support, later on Russia engaged in a series of border conflicts with Japan and won.
Cause (Domestic): Japan also intervened significantly in the Russian Civil War (1917–22) by sending 70,000 troops to support the non-communist White Army. Japan remained in Russia long after other powers had left and only withdrew when they were defeated by the Bolsheviks in 1922.
Effect (Domestic): Japan became humiliated with their failed intervention, created mistrust of Japan on the part of Western powers and domestic anger against the government, who was blamed for the high cost of the intervention and their failure to control the military.
