Floppy Disk:
The floppy disk was invented by IBM in 1972. It is a floppy magnetic disk
that you can store data on by inserting in a CD/DVD drive. It was originally
sold for about $5.Tape Cassette:
The tape cassette was invented in 1963 by the company
"Philips." It usually stores audio data, so you can buy
pre-recorded tapes with songs on them already or you
can record your own audio. They were originally sold for
about $10.CD:
The CD was invented by the company "Philips" in 1982.
It was used to store audio, data, and later even videos.
They could be used in computers or CD players. They
cost varied depending on the kind of CD, but was on
average cost around $15.Punch Card:
The punch card was introduced around 1890 by
Herman Hollerith. It was a paper storage device,
where you could punch data into it and save the card.
One punch card could cost around one dollar.Blu-Ray Disc:
It was created by the Blu-Ray association in 2002.
It was made to surpass the CD, in that it could store
hours of video footage. It's cost depends on the footage
that's on it, but a blank disk is around $2.Flash Drive:
The flash drive was invented in April of 199 by
Amir Ban, Dov Moran, and Oron Ogdan, who all
worked for "M-Systems." It was used to plug into
your computer and store large amounts of data on.
One costs about $8 or $9.iCloud Storage:
iCloud was invented in October 2011 by the company
"Apple." It's a service that stores data online from all
of your devices. For apple users, iCloud is free, unless
you update the amount of data it can hold.
