Seventeen Copies of one author's books (26 avr. 1683 – 27 juill. 1684)

Description:

Gervase Markham was a famous writer during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. He wrote several "how to" books, including one called "A Way to Get Wealth". Markham remained famous for his work even after he was deceased. In fact, one Boston Bookseller was able to sell seventeen copies of his books during the years 1683 and 1684. That was a very high number for the Early Modern World.
Books are a very important part of life, but a lot of people do not see that. Books can give a lot of insight into life for people, in several ways. They are great ways to learn something new, or even elaborate on something you have already known. Looking back into the history of books, such as Markham and his writing pieces, it makes me think about the true significance of reading and books. It is unfortunate that books are not seen the way they should be today.
