Mass German immigration to America (1 janv. 1830 – 1 janv. 1860)
Description:
Many Germans, similarly to the Irish, looked for a better life in America due to crop failures and hardships at home (including the collapse of the German democratic revolutions). Unlike their Irish counterparts, they came to America with a decent amount of capital and material goods. In fact, they were more educated than Americans.
