1914 WWI (1 janv. 1914 – 31 déc. 1918)
Description:
Coco Chanel's rise had begun in earnest, even reached the American press. She believes that a woman can be active and still remain elegant, she put her philosophy into her designs, shorten skirts and using jersey in female's outfits. Of course, jersey had previously only been used for men's underwear and sportswear, so this was considered revolutionary at the time. Her dresses stressed the new social role played by women, incorporating simplicity and masculinity.
