Battle of the Atlantic (3 sept. 1939 – 8 mai 1945)
Description:
The Battle of the Atlantic was mainly fought between the western Allied who consisted of United Kingdom, USA, Canada, France Poland, Brazil, Netherland and Norway against Axis power. They fought for the control of the Atlantic sea routes.
The Allied power had reasoning for this battle which were; 1. The blockade of the Axis power in Europe. 2. Security of Allied sea movement and lastly the freedom to project military power across the sea. The Axis power hoped to infuriate the Allied power by waging war.
Attack after attack, both powers put up a fairly good fight but overall Allied power was the conqueror.
