Walter Elias Disney is born to his parents, Elias Disney and Flora Call.
When Walter is 5 years old, his family moves to Marceline, Missouri.
When Walter is 9 years old, the family moves to Kansas City. The Disney family lives on a farm. Walt spends a lot of time drawing and animating. They were forced to sell their farm after Walt's father got sick.
Walt Disney graduates from Benton High School.
During World War I, Walt fights in the American Ambulance Corps in France. He lied about his age in order to be allowed to enlist.
Walt moved back to Kansas City and got a job at the Posman-Rubin Commercial Art Studio.
Walt meets Ub Iwerks and together they formed Iwerks-Disney Commercial Arts. The group lasted about a month.
Walt and Ub work for Kansas City Slide Company,

Mickey Mouse Clubs reach 1 million members. Mickey Mouse is well known in all civilized countries. Walt suffers from a mental break down. He is instructed by his doctor to take a vacation. Upon his return, business is in better shape than before he left.
Goofy makes his first appearance in "Mickey's Revue." United Artists agrees to allow Walt 2 years of 3-color Technicolor.
"Flowers and Trees" appears at Hollywood's Chinese Theater .
The first class of the Disney Art School is held at the Chouinard Art Institutute.
"The Three Little Pigs" is produced. Walt and Lilly move to a home n Los Feliz.
Diane Marie Disney is born; she is their first child.
Donald Duck debuts in a Little Symphony film, "The Wise Little Hen." Walt's staff grows to 187 Employees. The production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is announced. Disney disassociates themselves with United Artists. Disney Signs a contract to film Snow White with RKO.
Walt and Lilly adopt Sharon Mae Disney.
Donald Duck gets his own series of short films.
"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is shown in Los Angeles. It is on the Radio City Music Hall for 3 weeks, then it played in some theaters in New York. Snow White wins an academy award, and gains a profit of $8 million.
Walt Disney Studios expands to Burbank, California. Walt begins to work on "Pinnochio."
Flora Disney (Walt's mother) dies of asphyxiation.
Walt decides that Mickey Mouse should star in "The Sorceror's Apprentice." He asks Leopald Stokowski to conduct the music, and compose one piece, Fantasia. "Bambi" is created around the same time.
The construction of Burbanks Studio is continuing making a great place to work. Because of World War II, the profit made from "Pinnochio" falls short of what was expected.
"Fantasia" makes its debut, at the New York's Broadway Theater. Walt was forced to cut down the length of "Fantasia," it lost even more money than "Pinnochio".
