On Christmas Day 2015, "Joy" is released. Its plot revolves around a single mom trying to start a business selling one of her inventions: a Miracle Mop. It tells the inspiring story of overcoming obstacles and beating odds. Jennifer plays Joy Mangano, a real person after which the film is based. "Joy" was highly-acclaimed and led Jennifer to win a Golden Globe and be nominated for an Academy Award.
