1 août 1975 - 1st Aug- The Helsinki Accords are signed
*Boarders made inviolable, they cannot be altered by force
*Human rights and individual rights will be respected across Europe
*Work will be done to produce closer relations between the East and West countries .
This will include increased trades, technology exchanges and a joint space mission
^America didn`t like aided the Soviet economy or keeping their boarders
^USSR did not like upholding human rights as it reduced their control
