10 janv. 1773 - Boston Tea Party

Description:

The Boston Tea Party was a act of American colonial defiance that served as a protest against taxation. On the night of December 16, 1773, Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in the Boston harbor. They threw 342 crates that weighed 90 000 lbs of tea into the ocean. It took 3 hours for more than 100 colonists to empty the all the crates. This resulting in the Coercive Acts in 1774 and pushed the two sides closer to war. It also made the British Empire lose a lot of money.
