An Anarchist group of 3,000 began to riot in favor of an 8 hour work day. Strikers and Police began to clash. A bomb was thrown, 4 strikers and 7 policemen died, a Knight of Labor man was arrested. The Knights of Labor were badly scrutinized and never fully recovered
