Description:
Intended to transition returning veterans back into the labor market after the war by providing an unemployment benefit for up to one year. This allowed factories to switch from war time products (tanks) to peace time industries (automobile tires). The bill provided one year of education for every 90 days served, plus an additional month for each month of active duty service for a total of up to 48 months (Thelin, 2011, p. 262-263).
