Through the Apollo Program, Neil Armstrong with his famous phrase, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" was the first human to ever step foot on the moon. Buzz Aldrin, following Armstrong was the second. The Apollo 11 mission proved to be a huge success, as John F. Kennedy's goal of getting a man on the moon before the end of the decade had been fulfilled.
