Description:
NASA launched an orbiter as a mapping mission of Mars. It came back to earth in 2006. This mission was highly successful for it provided information of the surface, atmosphere, and even the interior of the red planet. It gathered information on dust patterns, weather patterns, meteorological changes, and more. It established the fact that Mars also has its own "seasons."
