Description:
This courtly bowl from Iran was made in the late 12th or early 13th century, and composed of stonepaste and glaze. It has signs of the zodiac and the sun surrounded by personification of the celestial bodies Mars, Mercury, Venus, the moon, Saturn, and Jupiter. This now lives at the Metropolitatan Museum of Art in New York.
