Description:
The 18th Amendment prohibited the sale and consumption of alcohol. This amendment was wildly unpopular and most people ignored it completely, which opened up a huge black market for alcohol. People would go to "speakeasy" nightclubs to drink, therefore, making most adult citizens criminals. It was repealed about 15 years later.
