2 juill. 1767 - Road to Revolution; Townshend Acts

Description:

After the repeal of the Stamp Act the British Parliament still thought the colonist would be okay with tax on imports. The new rules included tax on paper, lead, glass and tea. The act also gave the British officials the right to search through colonists houses and businesses. The colonists were angry because they were not allowed any representatives in the parliament. Once again they boycotted the goods and smuggled in goods to avoid taxes. Later these protests became violent which is important for the Boston Massacre.
