Description:
Major combatant in the American Revolution. Took place in Long Island, New York. Early morning on August 27, British attack the Americans first by sending a small army to fight them off. Soon while the Americans were fighting this task and too focused, the British army sneak attacked the Americans from the east, nearly surrounding the Americans. General Washington ordered his army to retreat to Brooklyn Heights. The method beung used in this battle was Guerilla Warfare. As a result of this battle, George Washington and the Continental Army were forced to retreat all the way to Pennsylvania. Also, until the Revoltuionary War was finished, the British had taken over New York.
