Description:
John Wilkes Booth who was a famous actor and a Confederate, assassinated President Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. When Booth slipped into the box he fired his pistol into the back of Lincoln’s head. He then leaped onto the stage from the booth and yelled “Sic semper tyrannis!” which means “Thus ever to tyrants!”–the Virginia state motto).
