Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in North America. It was founded on May 14th, 1607. Many English men arrived in North America on 3 big ships called the Susan Constant, the Godspeed, and the Discovery. They came to North America in order to start a new settlement and ended up settling in Jamestown.
