June 3rd Valerie Solanas shoots Andy Warhol in The Factory
He was pronounced dead but survived
Solanas shot him because she wanted him to use her script but he wouldn’t and then after unanswering her phone calls, she believed that he was stealing her play.
He stayed in the hospital for two months and wore a brace around his chest for the rest of his life.
In December of that year after Solanas was released she called The Factory and Warhol answered. She said she would shoot him again if he didn’t give her $25,000. She was sent to jail again.
