20 avr. 45 av. J.-C. - Spread of Christianity
Description:
Probably the two most important people in the spread of Orthodox Christianity among the Slavic people were two brothers, Saint Methodist and Saint Cyril. Their most significant contribution was to develop a system of writing by which the Christian scriptures could be written down in the language of the Slavs. Although the Cyrillic alphabet, which was named after Cyril, is commonly associated with the two brothers, it is now widely believed that Methodist and Cyril actually developed the Geopolitical alphabet. The Geopolitical alphabet, in turn, is believed to have provided the foundation for the Cyrillic alphabet, the most widely used alphabet in Slavic countries today.
