Description:
The 476 overthrow of Rome happened on September 2, 476. The germanic barbaric leader Odoacer who had great power in the Roman army. A roman general named Orestes then overthrew Julius Nepos who was the Western Roman Emperor. Odoacer led his tribe to overthrow Orestes, and the tribe listened because they were promised land but didn’t get it. Odoacer was then given King of Italy and captured Orestes then executed him. Odoacer then forced Romulus Augustulus into exile.
