50s were a golden moment in Iraq's history, when the country gained control of a large percentage of its oil revenue and dedicated the majority of that revenue to the newly formed Iraq Development Board, whose purpose was to develop Iraq. This development was to be achieved through overall infrastructural development, and subsequently, the construction of new buildings designed by leading international architects such as Gropius, Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Ponti,... wo where invited to submit plans for landmark buildings in Baghdad and its environs. Spirit of optimism and prosperity - Latif then started his career.
