30 mai 1854 - The Kansas-Nebraska Act

Description:

The Kansas-Nebraska Act was set into place by Stephen A. Douglas. Douglas amended his bill so that it repealed the Missouri Compromise. The new states, Kansas and Nebraska coming into the United States. Kansas and Nebraska would be allowed to have a choice of if they were for or against slavery. This pushed the country further towards the Civil war because it finished the Whig Party, crippled the Democracy, and pushed the North and South further apart, creating more distrust and hostility towards the other.
