Description:
During the Congress of Vienna most of Italy's Northern Peninsula was awarded to the Austrian Empire and several monarchs took control over the rest of the peninsula. This divided the Italian speaking states of Europe instead of unifying them. Italy fought to take control of the whole peninsula and on September 20, 1870 they succeded.
