Description:
Princely state of Kashmir led by a HIndi Ruler attempts to remain independent after partition
Kashmir had a Muslim majority population
Leads to internal revolts by pro-Pakistani factions in Kashmir
These revolts were supported by the Pakistani Military
Hindi ruler joins India in return for assistance
Fighting between I & P continues until the UN mediates a ceasefire and established a line of control
