Description:
The Townshend Act was the British make a point that they were still in control of the colonies. Taxes start small then get bigger. The Tea Act was a universal tax on day to day life because everybody drank tea from the elites to all the farmers because the water tasted gross. The colonies reaction to the tax on tea was the Boston Tea Party. So because the Americans reaction to the tax on tea was to dump it in the Boston harbor they decided that they would create the intolerable Act. If the Townsend Act hadn´t been written or something that was just a little bit different then they could have just ended the battle and not been in debt 122 million pounds or 156402170 US dollars.
