Description:
Maximillen Robspierre assumed control and his goal was to build a Republic of Virtue. He considered religion dangerous and old-fashioned so he closed the churches. Robespierre became the leader of the Committee of Public Safety. The guillotine was a quick and easy way to kill citizens who rebelled during the Reign of Terror.
