feb 1, 1810 - Für Elise

Description:

Year: 1810
‘Für Elise’ is one of Beethoven's most well known pieces because of its opening notes and melody. The story behind ‘Für Elise' was originally assumed to be a dedication for a woman named Elise but there was no record of a “Elise” that Beethoven knew or spoke to. “When the music was being transcribed, Beethoven's handwriting was misread…It is widely acknowledged that Therese was Therese Malfatti, a woman to whom Beethoven proposed in 1810 – the same year he composed ‘Für Elise’” (Rizzi, paragraph 2). The dynamics and timbre for this piece are low and soft. This piece was written for a solo piano. There is a slight change in the dynamics and timbre at around 0:56 suddenly and leads into a new pace for the piece and eventually it returns to the same pace as the beginning.
