• "God sticks" a wooden staff that represented deities worshipped by cook islanders before their conversion to Christianity
• They varied in sixe from 73cm to 4m
• Ironwood wrapped with backcloth
• Upper part is a carved head above smaller figures
• Lower end is a carved phallus, some missionaries considered them obscene and destroyed them
